Scallop-a-looza!

Only Native Sun brings you Scallop-a-looza! We specialize in scalloping trips for small groups--no big production line tours here. From a convenient, waterfront location, Native Sun schedules trips regularly during scallop season for small groups of 2 to 6 passengers. That way, you get personal attention and guidance in the water from your captain.

$300 minimum.

Homosassa Florida Scalloping in the clear waters of the Gulf of Mexico is great family fun and easy to get the hang of, even if you haven't done it before. Captain Russ has special spots marked for his passengers to enjoy. Once you reach the scallop location, he'll show you how to snorkel and then spot and retrieve the scallops from the sand or sea grass on the Gulf floor.

What's included in a Citrus County scalloping trip?
We outfit our boats with everything you need for scalloping-including our knowledgeable Scalloper-in-Charge, Captain Russ.

Native Sun provides snorkeling gear (or you can bring your own if you'd like) and the mesh bags needed to hold the scallops as you snorkel. A cooler with ice stands waiting on the boat as you bring in your catch. We also provide the required state salt water fishing licenses. When we get back to shore, we'll even help you clean your scallops!

What should I bring with me for the scallop trip?
Please feel free to bring your own cooler with drinks and snacks for the day. You should also bring towels and sunscreen. While we do provide snorkel gear, you can bring your own if you prefer.

How many scallops can we catch in a trip?
Regulations limit 2 gallons per person or 10 gallons per boat, whichever is least. This amount applies to the scallops in their shells. Since we keep our scalloping charters limited to small groups, you're able to retrieve and keep more scallops for your group. (Larger multi-party groups mean fewer scallops for each participant.).
